1) In the old days, you could at least count on the far-right nuts to hate on Russia and China. WW II Vets (like my Dad, a downed pilot in Stalag Luft 3) knew firsthand how messed up the Russians were. I met many an aged Baltic, Pole, German that echoed that thought, plus of course the Cold War bullshit and learning that Stalin possibly killed more than Hitler.

2) I still believe most of the Steele Dossier, Trump (and others) heavily indebted, Manifort etc got Repub convention talked into being nice to Putin, possibly relaxing sanctions after Crimea invasion, I thought "uh oh".

3) In addition to the rather obvious "Trump owes Putin for help winning election", the far-right seems to envy Putin as an exponent of a White Power authoritarian police-state with a highly suppressed media (double uh-oh, with my father and WW II vets doing triple somersaults in graves).

4) The events of Ukraine war have really marginalized Carlson and Trump in minds of most (including many Republicans, who now see evil Putin unmasked). Yet there are far-right elements (Orban/Hungary, Czechs) that still love Putin.

5) Is the unity of NATO etc really making Biden look good (and Trump clueless) in the face of Russian/Chinese aggression or what? Ukraine war has almost broken the Sino-Russian alliance, China rethinking Taiwan invasion?

6) I run into people (mostly from my boy's football team) who echo Carlson's "but Ukraine is corrupt" etc. I tell them to watch Netflix "Servant of the People" which shows Zelensky's quite positive (and Democratic) intent.
