1) Ok Devil's Advocate here, aren't things like sentiments against abortion and LGBT also expressions of Democracy? I suppose in our "free market" of thought, we need to hope that tolerance will always win (eventually) against intolerance?

2) My complaint about our Democracy is that it seems frightfully easy to peddle lies within and pass them off as Democratic thought. Examples, Trump and Ramaswami (who have GOT to be on Putin's payroll) can stump for holding Russia/China harmless and almost win an election off their lies. Is it Democracy, if we have no filter for disinformation? This would be like harming a free-market economy by allowing businesses to make false claims about their products.

3) Rome was sorta a democracy until Julius Caesar learned to buy people off, lie, commit genocide, subvert the rules, and destroy the Republic. Rome recovered, but became an oligarchy...I think that's what is happening to us.
