1) The Repubs rolled out moderates like McCain and Romney and lost (mostly because they pandered to the far right)

2) Then they were deluded by temporary success of the nut wing, now that is political poison.

3) World events are making Biden look good lately, the Ukrainian success, less reliance on China, a soft recession, some infrastructure and renewable implementation, lower deficits than Trump.

4) The elephant in the room is our deficit and entitlement spending. The bipartisan 2012 Simpson Bowles commission had a historic chance to solve this, yet Paul Ryan group torpedoed so as to not make Obama look good. The Repubs could really help us if they could ally w sensible Dem moderates to solve this.
