As an aside, check out my article on clean air, and especially the "Blue Zone commonality" chart. It implies that exercise, family values, and caloric restriction are what is at work, not specific dietary things (though "legumes" are curiously in there...perhaps the good of meat without the bad?). Of course my article implies that clean air (a stand-in for clean environment?) is also at work, maybe not recognized. I'd be interested in your thoughts!
