As of late, Religion has some reason to merge with Science, if it can abandon its silly 10,000 yr creation timeline:
1) The "Fine Tuned Universe" theory implies that conditions in the Universe are uniquely suited to our existence, further implying that there may be an intelligent creator.
2) The "Many Worlds" theory implies that our realities may be somewhat personalized, as we may be experiencing a "snapshot" of what is actually a quantum cloud of eventualities. This could imply some form of miracles or anomalies, even time travel.
3) As in "The Matrix", #1 and #2 may imply a "Simulated Reality", where we are living in some sort of game, once again implying intelligent creation. This idea has gained some scientific traction.
4) However, Science really struggles with explanations for "life after death", from a nuts and bolts standpoint. The best Science explanation might be #3, in which case most anything might be possible, and somewhat enabled by #1 and #2. Lest Creationists now believe that the 10,000 yr timeline is possible, realize that this is still a HUGE paradox against a mountain of hard evidence.
