Big difference in motivation for Russian soldiers if defending homeland vs invading foreign country. As such, I wonder if its smart to take war to Russian territory. Re: WW II, a difference I suppose between Soviet forces (which included Belo-Ukraine, Baltics, Caucasians, Stans etc) and Russia, as I'd think now that many former Soviet states identify w Ukraine, making Russia currently much weaker.
