Democracy and Capitalism have left many blemishes in their wake (ie slavery, land grab at Native American expense, current inequities) but its interesting how "free markets, free expression" are always slowly evolving into something better. The rise of knowledge worldwide has caused people to have fewer kids and better health. Recently, capitalism seems to be addressing the climate change problem (after all, there's $ in it). With free-will health awareness comes treating each other better & less meat eating also? China/Russia are rather forced to take an ultimate Democratic/Capitalistic path? Will knowledge/free will someday cause us to quit destroying habitat and live in balance? Ayn Rand gets a black eye for advocating some kind of rampant capitalism, but I believe she was an advocate of the Bill Gates/Elon Musk/Jeff Bezos types (who by and large have made things better) and warning us about the phony capitalist usurpers (Donald Trump, Koch Brothers?)
