Despite fossil fuel company and Republican resistance, there are some good signs on the "carbon free" front:
1) Wind and solar are growing at a rapid pace, since they are becoming cheaper energy sources and attracting investment
2) Same for batteries, hydrogen, HVDC (Biden funded a few, but private investors are taking over)
3) Interesting the gas powered electricity plant mandate (Biden says "90% CO2 free by 2030", using carbon capture, but industry pushing back saying its not feasible, THIS IS A BIG DEAL as it will take renewables awhile to grow and there's not enough storage. '24 election is VERY IMPORTANT.
4) Electric cars slowly coming onboard, they REALLY need pickups and larger vehicles to become at least hybrids or hydrogen powered soon.
5) All in all, it looks like we may meet 2050 goals by 2040?
6) Probably a bit late to reverse climate change, geoengineering might also be needed.
