F Troop (in hindsight) is like many shows of the day, more quaint than funny. I remember my father (who was actually in the Stalag Luft III Prison Camp) who after dragging him in to watch "Hogan's Heroes" kind of smiled and said "that's interesting" (he never watched it again). F Troop a kind of forum for Jewish and Italian comedians to have at the Indian schtick, which was funny at the time but today not as much (Frank de Kova esp. funny then...Q-Would Don Rickles be funny today? Not so much?). Conclusion, it may be that despite well-intended Calvary-Native American humor either a) The jokes wore out or b) One can't help remembering the broader tragedies or c) Comedic tastes today are just different. Bad that cancel culture limits us watching though, like "Huckleberry Finn" and "Amos and Andy", people need to learn what life was really like back then and there are indeed some really funny routines. (PS-I still find WC Fields hilarious, but I never met one woman that found him funny...bad Vern!).
