Great job in another installment on how the nutty left is melding with the nutty right, ala too much social media. Though Trump didn't create these strange paranoid anti-science mysticisms, he sure gave them plenty of cover. Makes me recall when wife and I did an Earth Day event in 1990, primarily promoting nascent electric cars, photovoltaics, better water/wastewater treatment etc, and while trying to fend off the right wingers who were trying to destroy the event, we also had to battle the drum-beating/crystal loving New Agers, who claimed to own the event, under some quasi-feminist/healing license. I guess in the intervening years, the undereducated forces of mystic nuttery and paranoia have formed a consortium against the forces of educated rationality? Churches used to help buttress the forces of rationality but have been A.W.O.L. as of late? I realize that a Democracy floats an open society that must weather challenges, but I hope we weather this one and wake up before the forces of autocracy steal our bacon!
