I agree with Timothy Snyder. G7 plus NATO, Philippines, Australia would be a formidable alliance if they formed a united front (both economically and militarily). It seems Russia/China were counting on the disorganization of these potential allies, and made their move too soon. Now they risk being brought to their knees (better now than later when they've regrouped). A Taiwan invasion might be a convenient Ukraine redux, allowing the UN to shame China while getting our military to warrant their $800 billion a year. Even though China has "home field advantage", they risk shutting off their shipping lanes. The only one crazy enough to launch nukes might be N Korea, and we all know how that would end. Good luck also R-C w allies Iran-Syria-Venezuela-Pakistan etc, a sort of rogues gallery. I'd almost expect Russia to join NATO at some point, as now they're about to be swindled by China. World Wars not good, but if it can slap our sleeping giant awake into reviving Democracy and repurpose/revive our manufacturing engine/limit to Ukraine/Taiwan, not all bad.
