I am pushing 70 and younger than most in my retirement community. I'd say that exercise and writing have replaced much of the social interaction in my life (most friends were associated with my kids, who are now long gone). I take some consulting jobs, doing a lot of music ed (playing in a jazz band would be fulfilling if I could find one). I'm a widower and much centers around g.f. and kids, when they're around. Many retirees here seem self-absorbed and/or kinda strange (weird politics, high entitlement, makes me more determined to hold onto my physical/mental "edge" going forward).
