I am retired but used to work in the fields as a teen, am an active gardener. I know what you're talking about! I've been meaning to write about "bad GMO vs good GMO" (my son's "organic" pals at UC Davis might explain it that way). Monsanto patenting all the seed stock definitely bad, but National Geographic etc believe some GMO necessary to protect future food supply. As gardeners, I suppose we can load up on heirloom seed stock? I'm not sure hothouses destroy the quality (it didn't seem to destroy mine), I'd like to know more!
