I believe that many we see as minorities actually consider themselves white. Definitely Middle Easterners, many Hispanics, perhaps many East Indians and Asians think of themselves as white, and act white. That's why African Americans are somewhat isolated as a political entity (yet they resonate strongly with much of the "white" electorate, as pushback against a perception of the "other white's" oppression). Someday, after ethnic lines fade, the divisions will probably be solely over money & privilege.
