I grew up with several Sikhs (the ones who picked fruit here before getting professional degrees the hard way, the ones who did military and all the tough stuff in India). They warn about elitist Upper Caste bullshit being exported to the US without our knowledge, we thinking they are simply "model minorities". I can't stand Vivek, and as you imply, he's the vanguard of East Indian H1-B elitist politics.

I was an engineer working with several H1-Bs, about 2/3rds are solid, the rest barely competent or hiding some rather scary agendas (virulent Islamic anti-Semitism for instance). I realize we need them to keep our industries moving, but we also need to remember that many of the 911 bombers were H1-Bs, promote a better vetting process. Most importantly, we need to fill the K-12 pipeline with native born people proficient in Math and Science, willing to take engineering jobs.
