I just read my weekly issue of "Science" Magazine and you can add this to your list.

Geneticists have finished doing an exhaustive study of 10,000 year old DNA from Anatolia (modern Turkey) and the Caucasus...it turns out most Europeans are the product of a massive genocide committed by the proto-IndoEuropeans, the Yamnaya herders from the Steppe (about 6000 yrs ago). Apparently, many modern male haplotypes are from the Steppe, and female from the base European farmer haplotype before the invasion (implying that the men were killed, the women "married" by the invaders).

This is also what has happened to many cultures, including Native Americans to a large degree. Does this mean we are all a product of pillage and rape by our forebearers? Yikes!
