I keep thinking about my grandparents and life 100 yrs ago when most lived on farms. Everything was your animals, crops, and chores (ie "Oh you're feeling sad? Well GO OUT AND DO YOUR CHORES, YOU'LL FEEL BETTER") Given that most are urbanites now, I wonder if many are lacking the benefits of the energy expended taking care of things. My grandparents would laugh at "going to the gym" (they'd say "why don't you just do your chores", which were indeed a workout). I keep thinking urbanites need access to gardens and 4H animals. Farm work takes care of many things, more appreciation for food, better sleep, offsets depression and anxiety?
