I used to live in Marin Co (Prius central) and YOU ARE SO TOTALLY RIGHT ABOUT THIS!!!! The worst is when you're behind a Prius at an intersection with another Prius at the adjoining intersection, waiting while each driver motions "you go.., no you go...no I insist,.you go" for about 20 seconds. I was in the Electric Auto Assoc starting in '88 and our club financed the hybrid prototype at Stanford in the early 90s...little did we know that we were unleashing a new species of leisurely self-righteous save-the-worlders. Now I live in a retirement community in liberal Sonoma...talk about slow on slow! Thanks for the witty automotive insights!
