I was thinking the other day that if Biden wanted to send armed Federal Immigration Police to confront Abbot's State Police who have taken over border protection, it might look a lot like Fort Sumter. This time, the Federal forces who are so vested in air/sea/foreign affairs might have a hard time catching up to a bunch of guerilla vigilantes. As you say, vigilantism will do the most damage. But just like the last Civil War (in which my 8 g-grandfathers fought for the North), the Feds have too many resources to lose control of the Country.
