If the experience is like my own, then my "modified keto" diet still provides about 50 gm of carbs/day, as I eat many fruits and vegetables. The reason the diet allows this is I can subtract the high fiber content from the carb count. The protein I get is mostly from eggs, dairy, protein shakes, and occasional leaner meat. What I've learned is that one gets plenty of carbs, even when one is trying to avoid them. To make it all work, I eat plenty of nuts (maybe too many) and salads. I do miss beans (carb heavy), I hope to add back someday. I don't miss bread, rice, potatoes, when I cheat its usually w tortilla chips!
