If the schism between major religions is "My God is better than your God", then the split between Christian denominations must be "My Jesus is better than your Jesus" (plus remember that God is a Republican and Jesus a Democrat). All in all, religious differences generally reflect ethnic/tribal/cultural competitions, the part of the book "Sapiens" where Homo Sapiens invented "disinformation" to be able to manage larger groups.
