If/when Russian economy/government collapses, we'll need to make sure we don't humiliate as the Allies did to Germany in WW I (precipitating a resurgence). A better play, help them rebuild and stand against China, their real long-term enemy (like how we managed post WW II Germany). What scares me though, is that's basically what we already did in the 90s/post-Gorbachev, yet here we are!
