Interesting. I'm a senior experimenting with diet and exercise. I'm very happy w my 7 hrs/week walking/swimming/weights, 50 carb/day, 30 g fiber, 70 g protein, great bloodwork numbers (also supplements & low inflammation #s). What is seldom discussed is difficulty getting daily dose of protein and fiber at the same time (since they are mutually exclusive in foods). To get both, you almost have to be on a modified Keto diet. For me, I eat berries, salads, pico, mushrooms, fiber supplements (almost no protein there), eggs, fresh meat, cheeses, milk for protein (almost no fiber there). Nuts are happy medium. In any case, one stumbles into a low-carb diet here, if they want to keep calories below 1500/day (you also generally get the good fats when you get the protein). I suppose adding back the potatoes, beans, and whole grains (which I've been avoiding lately) gets me back to 100 carbs/day, 1800 cal/day and a "balanced" diet, but with no weight loss. Of course, this varies by gender, genetics, and age. It would seem also if your weight is good and you're not constipated, diet/exercise is right and gut biome is happy. Lean diet, lotsa exercise makes me hit the hay feeling like I just took 2 Advil!
