It would seem that plug-in hybrids would be the bridge to full-on EVs (when batteries and charging systems are improved). The pickup market would seem a perfect entry point for these PHEVs (improving "mileage" to up to 50 mpg) yet no one currently makes them. Toyota (major seller of hybrids in US) has yet to make any kind of hybrid pickup. Full-on EV pickups may be underpowered, a diesel PHEV pickup (that could also run on biofuel) might be perfect?
