It would seem that the world's religions could regroup (especially since Judaism, Islam, Christianity since all share the Old Testament and at least recognize the existence, if not the Divinity of Christ): 1) Create a universal, common ethical construct based upon Ten Commandments and perhaps the Jesus Five (Faith, Humility, Lack of Quick Judgement, Tolerance, Redemption...all kind of related?) 2) Perhaps broaden view of world to allow at least possible coexistence with Science (not hard actually), 3) We all get how religions must defend "knowing who your Mommy and Daddy are", but perhaps allow a slightly broader tent, and 4) Tolerance, if not affirmation. After all, religion is meant for sinners (all of us, and the "deal' that sin is allowed if one confesses it a good one!) 5) Might be...rise above politics! If there is a 6) I would stress that "Let ye without sin cast the first stone" is an important universal concept, 7) and 8) might be....how can any group be spiritual and advocate killing or racism? Thus some basic sensibilities may be needed to move forward.
