I've been making the point to climate-change deniers for years that regardless, clean energy can:
1) Eliminate a large degree of pollution
2) Reduce foreign energy dependence
3) Provide a simpler & cheaper form of energy (this is happening with photovoltaics and HVDC), and eliminate much energy standby and line-loss.
Re: #3, I have no idea why something like a National Electric Grid (advocated and initiated by Obama's Energy Secretary Steven Chu, a kind of "superhighway" compared to previous "2-lane highway") is hated upon by climate change deniers (its simply a much more efficient technology that will result in lower costs and higher reliability). Similarly, EVs will soon be more efficient than internal combustions (with solid state batteries and more renewable infrastructure). Less complexity, no energy loss at stoplight.
I believe Climate Change denial is more tied to the fears that Urban Elites are getting too powerful (and perceived loss of automotive or mining jobs, or a misleading of blue collars by MAGAs) than any factual understanding of science or tech.
