Many articles are now written about Russia's failures in Ukraine and possible civil war divisions within and/or a deposed Putin. I suppose in a larger sense, the world will always need to deal with Russia's pride and expansionist ambitions, but also the fact that they are becoming China's "Canada" (a resource-rich nation allied with an industrial one with a large military). Many on Medium also note China's land disputes/rivalries with Russia, and that Russia may get snookered/may ultimately have more in common with the West. Perhaps the West needs a "rope-a-dope" strategy (decreasing trade w Russia-China while building up their own industrial capabilities while holding the military line) while this all plays out.
