Odd that three of the greatest baseball players, Hornsby, Cobb, and Barry Bonds, were jerks largely disliked by their peers. Odd also that Hornsby and Pete Rose were compulsive gamblers. Judging from those four players relative lack of World Series success, they didn't make the players around them better.
