So true and worthy of some follow ups. This phenomenon may be underreported (especially for seniors). At 66, I decided to go beyond the "150 min/wk", up to around 500 min/wk. Indeed, there were improvements across the board, I sleep better, have no joint pain, my CRP number is very low. Why? Well exercise is apparently a net anti-inflammatory (at end of day I feel like I've taken an Ibuprofen), increased Nitric Oxide levels (what Sildenafil, good for blood vessel circulation, does), plus it, uh, makes you tired and gives you a good nights rest. It probably does a lot of other things, like work off some of the bad things we eat. I'm realizing now the wisdom of Jack LaLanne who while aging realized that he didn't need any pills if he simply exercised:

Interestingly, LaLanne did a variety of exercises (swimming, lifting, running) and wanted to bring exercise to the masses (not just the gym rats). The question now is "how much is too much?" and I guess one doesn't want to obsess or injure oneself.
