The US spends close to $800 billion annually on defense, China around $240 billion, and Russia $60 billion. If our weaponry can't win this thing (or we run out of ammo to supply), there will be serious questions about how that $800 billion is spent. It seems any little punk country (N Korea for instance, $2 B in defense) can hold the enemy hostage with a few nuclear tipped missiles (Iran about to follow suit with their $20 B). I suppose our $800 B is due for some serious reckoning, now that we're about to face the big boys? Wouldn't a "leaner, meaner $600 B" also do the job? And we don't even have hypersonic missiles yet!
