...this discussion is sort of endless as you could also say that many kids who are good at baseball are made to feel inferior in math class, etc. (ie "bullying" goes many directions) Fortunately, there are many sports now for people to find their niche (including running and swimming, where participation alone offers a health reward). Sports are also elective so you don't have to participate (unlike Math). Raising a few boys and coaching all these years, I saw value in doing the "Ted Lasso" of everyone at least hitting a baseball and learning at least Algebra, as a kind of basic self-esteem. I just wish there was an army of kindly coaches/tutors to make up for all the parental deficits.
