This is a good profile of Nationalists in general. Many friends from my rural hometown are similar, very nice people but also undereducated and easily buy into the Trump (or Qanon) propaganda. (An aside, with the overwhelming evidence against Trump, why can't we disqualify him for the next election?)

The formula is frightfully effective, setting everyone against the "fake" media, demonizing those not in mainstream (like foreigners) and "elites" (often Jews with successful businesses, in Russia sometimes also Armenians?). I guess the tide will turn if the Ukraine war prolongs, soldiers die, prices rise and scarcities appear. I'm still watching the Zelensky sitcom and can understand why Putin doesn't want anyone to see it (a powerful message for Democracy and anti-corruption)
