Very true. I was in the Electric Auto Association since '88 and bought my first electric car in '89. Batteries create a "dimishing returns" situation (particularly in heavier cars) because of relatively low energy densities and weight. Until batteries improve, the PHEV is a great value (especially in smaller cars, approaching equivalent mileage of 120 mpg).
