Wait...she sounds like Jimmy Carter! I've had to act as power of attorney for some end of life relatives. A few ended up in hospice, fair enough. My father in law (who was VA and had a healthy pension) was close to being in long-term care, no VA coverage, which would have drained his financial resources in 2 years (I guess that's the thing people get insurance for, even though maybe only 15% get there). He ended up passing away in hospice in his assisted-living facility, just before Covid ravaged the place. These life-extension interventions may be missing something...unless you can live into healthy 90s, then pass at home surrounded by your family and friends, it may not be worth it. Certainly our actuarial SS and pension systems will hurt with too many centenarians.
