We visited Lake Sevan (along with the rest of Armenia) in 2019. I'm not trying to excuse this bad male behavior, but I believe the country has changed since you visited. For one thing, Armenia has had their own struggle against Russian occupation (not unlike Ukraine and others), and I agree with the assessment that the offenders were likely Russian. I grew up with many Armenian-Americans and of course encountered many on my trip. They are honestly delightful people, good Christians, industrious, and fun-loving (in a good way). Since you visited, there has been substantial investment from Armenian expats, allowing Armenians to "take back" some of their heritage (lost/stolen in 1894, 1915 genocides and Russian occupation). Armenia is now being bullied once again by Turkey, Azerbaijan, and Russia, so we need to support them. The old Armenian immigrants here are almost the most ardent/patriotic Christian Americans, and kind of afraid of the "Russianized Armenians" themselves.
