Yes, Gore is indeed well-intended, informed, and passionate, yet:
1) I wish he'd fought harder for us (the ones that voted for him) in the 2000 election. A little more Gore passion would've done wonders.
2) We really need to "green" the weapons of war (or war itself) to put a dent in climate change. This might also limit the parallel and not exactly related problem of environmental devastation and habitat destruction.
3) I've been listening to Dr Paul Ehrlich and Gore most of my life, yet not a whole lot has been done to stop our orgy of resource destruction. Nevertheless I'm kind of optimistic in the sense that we flatter ourselves thinking we have so much power over Nature...someday soon she may get the last laugh, those of us left will move northward (or live in biodomes), and somehow the Earth will happily go on with or without us, things like oil long forgotten.
