Yes, hypocrisy abounds as people like Lavrov send their kids to be educated in West and then bad-mouth us. I've met WW II era people from Baltic States who told me that bad as Germany was, they were much preferred to Soviets. That said, I guess Russia has Patriotic pull on expats regardless of the logic, and we in West are not perfect. Something I could never figure out (and you might explain) are Russian Jews who relocated to US about 100 years ago (after being mistreated by Russians and later Stalin), but then became strangely complicit with Soviets while undermining the US (ie Rosenbergs and WW I & II era lefties)...why? Finally, I'd guess that like Turkey and Iran, about 40% of the country might want to join the EU but outvoted by foaming-at-the-mouth Nationalists?
