Yes, the rejoinder to this is that many don't live in residential units conducive to rooftop solar/electric car charging thus the "50% will still use the grid and regional utility renewables". As for transportation, there may be smart electric car sharing for city dwellers (like the robo taxis in "Westworld" and "Total Recall") where people don't need to own cars, yet are safely transported. Some envision Maglev "smart highways" where tires retract and cars float whilst being charged:
