Yes, this film the coolest for Boomer Boys, but most of it actually happened (my father was there). The wisecracks, ingeniousness, some sympathetic guards (if not for them, I probably wouldn't be here). Right on, the part where Dad didn't want to talk about it (the survivor guilt would get to them, no honorable man wants to hold himself above the ones that died). Subsequent generations probably don't quite get it (one kid I hired had never heard of McQueen...I couldn't believe it!)
